Project goals
The Center for Development of SWPR, in recent years, has prepared a Study on wastewater collection and treatment in the Kichevo micro region with financial support from the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, through the Programs for BRD. Also, with the support of GIZ RED and the Swiss agency for development and cooperation, a Cost-benefit analysis of the wastewater collection and treatment system has been prepared. Both documents have been prepared in accordance with EU standards, and they have been translated into English language.
Based on these documents, which were presented and submitted to the Ministry of environment and physical planning, 10 million euros were approved by the EU Delegation in Macedonia, through the IPA3 Component for regional development. With the funds, the necessary additional technical documentation was prepared, after which the construction of the system was started.
Results
-Developed necessary technical documentation, in accordance with EU standards;
– Tender documentation prepared and conducted procedure for construction of the system;
– Realized the undertaken obligations by the municipality of Kichevo for land expropriation;
– Organized five working meetings with representatives of the expert team, MoEPP and the Municipality of Kichevo;
– Signed Agreement between the MoEPP and the Municipality of Kichevo.
