Project goals
The strategy was developed by an expert team in order to encourage and increase innovation in the Region. The key focus is on increasing the competitiveness of local and regional small and medium enterprises, in order to build a knowledge-based economy. Emphasis is also placed on strengthening links and cooperation between research centers, business, administration and the non-governmental sector. Within the Strategy, a three-year Action plan for the period 2017-2020 has been prepared, which defines specific project activities.
The strategy was developed as part of the project “Expansion of the functions of the Centers for development of planning regions in order to implement activities/services to support the private sector”, financially supported by the Ministry of Local Self-Government and GIZ LEIVV+Program.
Results
– Analyzed 13 strategic documents
– Organized 2 consultative meetings with 45 representatives of stakeholders
– Made 3 consultative visits to the municipalities
– 300 questionnaires sent, 36 questionnaires completed and analyzed
– Developed Regional strategy for innovations
– Prepared Action plan
