Center for development of the Southwest planning region successfully completed the past year, with most of the planned activities being fully implemented. In the nine municipalities belonging to the Region, around 64 million denars were invested in capital road infrastructure facilities, improving the energy efficiency of public buildings through their reconstruction, as well as utilizing RES, primarily by installing photovoltaic power plants. This was emphasized at the 11th session of the Council for development of the Southwest planning region, at which the Reports and Annual accounts for the operation of the Center for development in the past year were reviewed and adopted.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAccording to the results, revenues of around 104 million denars were generated, from domestic and international donors. With these funds, a total of 46 activities with the three strategic goals from the Program for development of the Region.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nA significant part of the financial resources from the project “Sustainable and inclusive balanced regional development”, provided through the Ministry of local self-government and the Swiss agency for development and cooperation, are intended for improving the services for patients and the working conditions of the staff in three capital health institutions of the Region – the Hospital for Nephrology in Struga, the Hospital for Orthopedics St. Erasmus in Ohrid and the Hospital for Cardiology St. Stefan in Ohrid. Activities in these institutions are ongoing, and it is important to note that over 44 million denars are being invested in the three of them.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAt the session of the Council for development were also reviewed and adopted the Action plan for the work of the Center in the current year, with the focus being placed on completing the activities in the aforementioned health institutions. In addition, the implementation of three regional projects approved by the Bureau for regional development with a total value of 64 million denars has also begun.
