Signed Agreements for regional projects

Struga, July 9. About 25 million denars from the central budget will finance three projects in the Southwest planning region to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings in four municipalities belonging to the region, and will also improve the communal infrastructure, through the reconstruction of road infrastructure and preparation of technical documentation for the road infrastructure in SWPR. The agreements for realization of the projects have been signed with the Bureau for regional development, and they should be realized by the end of the year. The signing of the agreements was attended by the Minister of Local Self-Government Suheil Fazliu, the deputy minister of Local Self-Government Dejan Pavleski, and the Director of the Bureau for regional development Ramiz Rexhepi.

In the Southwest planning region, the funds will be used for infrastructure projects in the municipalities of Struga, Ohrid, Kichevo and Debrca. These are public buildings (two kindergartens, one school and one public building) in which energy efficiency will be improved through repair of roofs, replacement of carpentry, insulation of facades. With the second project will be prepared technical documentation for the road infrastructure in SWPR, while with the third project will be reconstructed the road infrastructure.

According to minister Fazliu, the signing of the agreements is a step towards balanced regional development and improvement of living conditions of citizens in all regions in the Republic of Macedonia.
– The Government of the Republic of Macedonia, for 2018, increased the funds for balanced regional development by over 50 percent. and 4.5m euros this year will be invested in projects proposed by municipalities and planning regions based on their priorities. It is mainly about infrastructure projects or project documentation for larger projects, in order to be able to provide additional funds from donor sources or from the IPA Program of the European Union, said the Minister of Local Self-Government, Suheil Fazliu.
