On 18.03.2025, the Center for Development of the Southwest planning region of the PHI Nephrology – Struga, within the framework of the project “Reconstruction of the PHI Nephrology Struga and creation of conditions for health tourism in the PHI”, handed over the equipment – three hemodialysis, hemodiafiltration and hemofiltration machines.
These machines will enable improved care for patients with chronic renal failure, as well as for those with acute conditions that require advanced blood purification methods.
Benefits of the procurement:
- Improved quality of treatment – The new machines offer a higher level of efficiency in removing toxins and excess fluids from the blood, thus improving the general health of patients.
- Increased availability of services – By expanding the capacities of the institution, the waiting time for patients in need of dialysis treatments will be reduced.
- Reducing risks and complications – Modern technologies that the new devices possess enable more advanced and safer treatment methods, which directly affects the reduction of side effects in patients.
- Support for acute cases – In addition to chronic patients, these devices will also allow for more efficient treatment of patients with acute renal failure, which is especially important for emergency cases in the region.
- Improving working conditions for medical staff – Medical workers will have access to modern equipment that allows for more precise and safer monitoring of treatment.
With this investment, PHI Nephrology – Struga will significantly increase its treatment capacity and provide better quality healthcare for patients, which will contribute to better health and a longer life expectancy for people facing kidney diseases.
The project is implemented by the Center for development of the SWPR, while it is financed through the Ministry of local self-government and the Government of the Swiss Confederation / Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in the amount of 3,669,000.00 MKD.
