Strengthening the capacities of the PMU Kale-Centar Zupa through the procurement of equipment

Project Objectives

Overall Objective:

The main objective of the project is to improve the communal infrastructure through the procurement of a mini excavator for cleaning drainage channels, removing defects in the water supply network, maintaining roads, and improving the conditions for citizens in all settlements living in the Municipality of Centar Zupa.

Specific Objectives:

• Improving infrastructure – Enabling regular maintenance and rehabilitation of local roads, canals and public areas.
• Rehabilitation of damage after natural disasters – Rapid clearance of landslides, flooded areas and snowdrifts in the winter period.
• Facilitating agricultural activities – Supporting local farmers through digging irrigation channels, cleaning fields and installing new irrigation systems.
• Support for local communal services – Efficient waste collection, cleaning illegal landfills and maintaining public green areas.
• Construction of water supply and sewage systems – Excavation for installation or repair of pipelines, drainage systems and septic tanks in rural settlements.
• Maintenance of bridges and small crossings – Regular rehabilitation of wooden and concrete bridges, as well as clearing of sediments under them.
• Improving accessibility to isolated settlements – Regular cleaning and widening of roads leading to difficult-to-reach villages.
• Economy and independence of the municipality – Reducing the costs of hiring external companies and increasing the operational efficiency of municipal services.
• Improving conditions for citizens – Accelerated implementation of infrastructure projects that directly improve the quality of life in rural areas.

Results:

1. Reduction of infrastructure problems – Improving the functioning of overflow channels, eliminating defects from bursting water pipes, which means reducing the loss of drinking water.
2. Financial and economic benefits – Reducing the costs of emergency interventions and repairs, which saves local government money in the long term and improves the quality of life, which can increase the attractiveness of the municipality for investments.
3. Reduction of the risk of natural disasters – Excavations for the installation or repair of pipelines, drainage systems and septic tanks in rural settlements. Cleaner and functional sewage means better handling of heavy rains and preventing floods in populated areas, by clearing roads from landslides, cleaning riverbeds.
