Planning workshop for regional projects 2019

In order to achieve better coordination in the planning of activities for the implementation of the Program for development of the Southwest planning region (2015-2019), Centre for development, together with the key parties in the Region involved in regional development, organized a planning workshop, in which were determined the measures that will be implemented in the four priority areas of this program document. Over 30 participants from the municipalities, business sector, education and culture, as well as the non-governmental sector, discussed in detail the operationalization of the medium-term goals (in the field of economic development, education and social sphere, tourism and culture and environmental protection), by proposing specific project ideas.

The planning workshop identified over 50 ideas that the team from the Center for development refined, interconnected and shaped into a short list of thirty proposals from which, in the next period, regional projects are expected to be developed. This list, in accordance with the legal provisions (arising from the Law for balanced regional development), will be considered by the Council for development of the Southwest planning region, after which it is expected to be finalized.

The team of the Centre for development, is expected, to prepare several regional projects by December 15, which will be submitted to the Bureau for regional development, and for which the determined Budget of the Republic of Macedonia for 2019, will be allocated about 30 million denars.

The intention of the Center for development is, to develop other projects, in accordance with the established list of priorities, which will be submitted to the donor community, ie the European Union, Cross-border cooperation programs with Albania and Greece and other potential sources of funding.
