Implemented regional projects

With the reconstructed kindergarten Peperutka in Struga, performed by the Mayor of Struga, Ramiz Merko and the director of the Bureau for Regional Development, Ramiz Redzepi, the Center for Development of the SOUTHWEST planning region ends this year with successful realization of three projects, for whose activities were invested 26 million denars.

Kindergarten Peperutka in Struga got new PVC carpentry, thermal insulation of the ceilings, new electrical installation with energy-saving lamps and equipment of high energy class for kitchen and laundry. For these interventions were invested 2.6 million denars. Except in this building, interventions in order to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings in the SOUTHWEST planning region were carried out in Ohrid, in the kindergarten Razvigorce, in the community building in Volino and in the new municipal building in Kichevo. For the performed works, were invested 10,6 million denars, funds received from the Programs for regional development of the Ministry of Local Self-Government, the Bureau for Regional Development, as well as own participation of the municipalities of Ohrid, Struga, Debarca and Kichevo.

As part of the project for reconstruction and construction of a new road network, the Center for Development of the SOUTHWEST planning region, rehabilitated the local road in Balanci, Municipality of Centar Zupa, with a length of 1 km, and the service street Partizanska in Makedonski Brod whose length is 682 m. Namely, on both roads, a new asphalt layer was laid, and a certain extension of the road in Balanci was performed. In Ohrid, in the central city core, a new pedestrian path has been built in the length of 325 m, from the Clock tower to the primary school St. Kliment Ohridski, which has improved the tourist infrastructure in the old part of the city. The value of the three performed interventions is 11,2 million denars.

With the last realized project, technical documentation has been prepared, ie basic projects for reconstruction of existing city streets and local roads in Ohrid, Struga, Vevchani, Debarca and Kichevo have been prepared. The prepared documentation will enable the municipalities to improve the local road infrastructure in the length of 18 km, and along the way to solve other communal problems such as the construction of a new sewerage and atmospheric network. The total value of the prepared technical documentation is 3,4 million denars.

According to the determination of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia to increase the funds for balanced regional development, next year 2019, through the Programs of the competent ministry and the Bureau for Regional Development and the submitted projects of the Center for Development of the SOUTHWEST planning region, in the nine municipalities in this part of Macedonia, about 39,5 million denars will be invested. The Council for regional development decided that these funds should be used to continue the activities for improving the energy efficiency of public buildings available to municipalities, improving road infrastructure, through the reconstruction of several roads, as well as preparing basic projects for road development network in the Region.
