The Center for development of the Southwest planning region, within the framework of the approved regional projects for 2023, has successfully implemented the activity for the construction of the local road Popoj-Mlaka in Vevchani. Approximately 5.5 million denars have been invested in the improvement of this local road with a length of 650 m and a width of 3 m. Interventions have been carried out on the lower structure of the road, during which the surface has been significantly improved by laying a new buffer layer, after which a new asphalt layer has been installed. In parallel with these activities, part of the population has been connected to the existing sewage network, and a stormwater drainage channel has been constructed.
The activity in Vevchani is part of the regional project “Development of rural tourism and other complementary activities in the SWPR”, approved by the Ministry of local self-government, i.e. the Bureau for regional development. The funds have been provided through the Program for regional development from the national budget of the state.
