The Council for development of the South-West planning region held its 10th session, at which members were informed about the start of the implementation of regional projects from the Regional Development Program of the MLSG and the Regional Development Plan for 2023-2024, which will invest 58.5 million denars in the nine municipalities of the Region. Two projects will improve energy efficiency through the reconstruction of public buildings and the installation of photovoltaic panels, and the third will improve road infrastructure in order to improve the region’s tourist offer.
The members of the Council were informed that all planned activities from the Program for 2022 and 2023 have been implemented, except in Debar and Kichevo, where the work is expected to be finalized by the end of the current year, i.e. at the beginning of 2024.
The session also included a presentation of the draft concepts for regional projects under the Regional Development Program of the MLSG and the Regional Development Bank for 2024-2025, according to which investments of approximately 58 million denars are planned. Most of them will be allocated to improving the local road infrastructure, as well as to improving the environmental conditions and energy efficiency of public facilities.
The members of the Development Council reviewed and adopted the Financial Plan of the Center for Development of the Public Sector Development Agency for 2024, according to which it is planned to generate revenues of approximately 130 million denars, with the majority, i.e. over 90 percent, being related to the implementation of regional projects in the Region.
