New 58.5 million denars in the Region

Center for development of the Southwest planning region and the Bureau for regional development, signed agreements for three regional projects, whereby 58.5 million denars will be invested in the Region. The funds are provided from the national budget through the Programs for balanced regional development of the Ministry of local self-government, i.e. the Bureau for regional development.     – With the project for installing photovoltaic panels on public buildings, 18.8 million denars will be invested in four municipalities in the Region: Struga, Debar, Makedonski Brod and Plasnica. Complete systems for electricity production will be provided to 11 public buildings. A maximum of 376.6 kWp can be obtained from these systems in ideal weather conditions and during the sunniest period of the day, informs the Center for development of the SWPR.   – The second project includes the reconstruction of the local road network in four municipalities in the Region: Vevchani, Debar, Centar Zupa and Plasnica, where 20.8 million denars will be invested. Interventions will be carried out on streets and roads with a length of 2.4 km, primarily improving the road construction by laying a new asphalt layer. All with the aim of improving access to tourist sites and enabling a better tourist offer in the interior of the Region, say from the Center for development.     – Around 18.8 million denars will be invested in the project to improve the energy efficiency of public buildings in Kichevo, Vevchani, Debrca and Ohrid. In Kichevo, the upper floor of the building used by the Municipal council and where part of the municipal administration is located will be reconstructed. In Vevchani, the heating system in the kindergarten “Planinski cvet” will be reconstructed, and part of the works include replacing carpentry and interventions on floors and wall surfaces. In Debrca, the existing building used by the Municipality will receive a thermal facade, new electrical installation, water supply and sewage, as well as insulation of floors and ceilings. In Ohrid, in the two kindergartens – “Lihnida” and “Rosica” sanitary facilities will be completely reconstructed, which will significantly improve the working and living conditions of about 420 users.   The tema of the Center for development together with the municipalities of the Region, are simultaneously leading the process of preparing regional projects under the Program for BRD of MLSG and the BRD for 2024-2025, according to which investments of about 58 million denars are planned. Most of them will be intended for improving the local road infrastructure, as well as for improving the environmental conditions and energy efficiency of public facilities, announced from the Center for development of the Southwest planning region.
