Effective communication between stakeholders at the regional level is significant, as it will improve public information on policy measures to encourage balanced regional development, as well as enabling free access to information for interested parties. In addition, the active involvement of citizens in the process of creation and implementation of regional policy, and cooperation in the preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of planning documents for regional development between central government bodies and municipalities, economic and social partners and others will be improved. relevant representatives of civil society. These were part of the goals of the training, which was carried out with over twenty representatives from the municipalities, the business sector and the team from the Center for development of the Southwest planning region.
The training was conducted by Miki Trajkoski, a member of the team from the “Sustainable and Inclusive Balanced Regional Development” project, who introduced the attendees to the needs of communication with the media, the genres that can be used in order to achieve better effects with the public and the need to create on the annual media plan of the institutions. At the training, practical techniques that should be applied during the public appearances of the representatives of public institutions were developed.
Improving the communication skills of regional stakeholders is significant for raising the visibility of regional development projects, and it directly results from the need for full and successful implementation of the provisions of the Law on Balanced Regional Development.
